Convenient
-
You hold certain values because it makes it easier to justify how you want to live. You cherry pick information to support your arguments. Many of your values and moral positions are not compatible (they contradict each other).
-
Accidental
-
You've inherited 90% of your moral values and opinions from 1. The people around you (friends and family), and the media you consume. If you found yourself in a discussion with someone well-prepared and well educated, it would become a debate and you would feel defensive, because you'd neither be able to straw-man nor steel-man your position.
-
Intentional
-
You think about your values and moral opinions a lot - where they come from, whether they're Accidental or Convenient, and whether they are compatible with each other. You are aware of, and thus comfortable with, your own ethical inconsistencies (everyone has them). If you found yourself in a discussion with someone well-prepared and well educated, it wouldn't become heated, and you wouldn't get defensive.
