My name is, Lloyd Anthony (Tony) Ennis. Born in Kingston
Jamaica, I clearly recall my Mom and I, sitting on our porch
singing Baptist hymns and other favorite standards. I grew up
with Nat's music, and in a sense considered him my mentor. Prior
to immigrating to the US I worked for The Jamaica Broadcasting
Corp. as a Boom operator, soundman and studio cameraman. Here in
the US, GMAC, The United Nations, and for a Co. involved in
manufacturing Medical Devices. My other actives include acting.
Credits include "The French Connection", "Man from Left Field",
"Looking For Trouble " [Recently on HBO] and another I'm not
sure was ever released called "Chief Zabu", photo shoots for
Polaroid, a brochure for "Sailfish Point" (a private community
here in Stuart), and a TV commercial for a local Mortgage Co.
I have been fortunate enough
to be asked to perform with "Sandy Paustians's Fabulous
Footnotes" in their annual concert at the 600-seat theater at
Club Med Resort Hotel here in Pt. St. Lucie, FL. Both shows were
standing room only.
I had met Sandy and her
husband Bob a few years ago and had lost touch with them, that
is until they went to dinner at "Scoozas Italian Restaurant" in
Jensen Beach where I sing frequently through the courtesy of
"Capt Jim" (formerly of the fifties group "The Diamonds") The
rest, as they say is history.
Most, of my friends and
associates that have heard me sing, have been encouraging me to
pursue a career as a singer. I have now decided to do that. I am
currently working on my next CD which will contain songs made
popular by Brook Benton, Al Martino, and Johnny Mathis, Jim
Reeves, to name a few. Like anyone in this business, I too am
waiting for an opportunity, however whether it comes or not, I
will continue to do the thing I love to do best. Sing!!!
In 2002 I was asked to perform at the
Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach FL.
This concert sponsored by, and all proceeds went to “The Make a
Wish Foundation”, and if I say so my self L.O.V.E as well as
the other Nat King Cole songs I sang brought the house. These
and other vocal accomplishments has been attributable the mentor
I never met. “Nat King Cole”.
